Numerology as we will see is the science of phonetics and not spellings, therefore altering spellings in names makes no difference unless they are phonetically correct and pronounced by everyone is the same way.

A good example is the English word Papa and Hindi word Papi (sinner) both add up to the same Hebrew value, but both are so different in meaning, because A and I have different values in devnagiri script unlike Hebrew so one must be very careful in putting extra vowels in one’s name.

Sound (shabda) is a guna (quality) of ether (akasa) and is sensed by hearing namely lettered (varnamka shabda) composed of words which have meaning and this is produced by the vocal organs in contact with air, which formation is in response to a mental movement or idea.Sound forms bam,bham,mam,yam,ram are associates with lightning, the bija of water is ‘Vam’ and the heart chakra is activated by the sounds gham, nam, cam, cham, jam, jham, tam, tham and is the center of vayu tattva.

The vowel A is a negative particle and is symbolic of Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh (Shiva). I symbolizes Kamadeva (cupid) desire, compassion, learn, the longer I gives dejection, U symbolize command, acceptance, AI of Shiva is the destroyer and giver, AU is calling, invoking, E is creating and agiatating. The words are suggestive, R for love, fire, sexual intercourse, D for confusion, uproar, mixture, so when two words are joined only the last sounded has numerical values. Sounds emerge from 5 different areas of the mouth; gutturals (throat), palatals (words like ch,and j), linguals (t,d and I), dentals (enunciated with the tongue against the teeth,as in t and d), labials(articulated by the lips,as in p,b,m and w,oo),

The five phonetic categories are:

1. A,H,Ch,O (throat) Air element,

2. G,I,K,Q (palate) earth,

3. B,T,L,N,Th (tongue) spirit,

4. Z,S,Tz,R,Sh (teeth) Fire,

5. D,V,M,P (Lips), Water.

WALKING PROBLEMS and SATURN

SATURN is the planet of bones and skeleton. He is also the planet of Lubrication in the joints. All ageing process in our body starts after the Signature of Saturn. He is the planet of limitation and contraction so he limits our movement from the age of 49 56 or 63 and walking problems are created by Saturn. Free movement is restricted by Saturn.

Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn and Aquarius so Knee and legs are directly under the control of Saturn. When in the birth chart if SATURN is seated in Lagna or in 11th house, or if Capricorn/Aquarius is rising, Saturn affects walking at the above cited ages. May be sciatica nerve pain, may be slip disc problems or may be knee pain problems but walking is disturbed and if knee is more damaged knee replacement operations take place in the life of such natives.

It is also seen that when Capricorn is in 6 8 or 12th house knee is sure affected at certain age so Gemini, Leo and Aquarius Lagna or SATURN in Gemini Leo or Aquarius Sign also have knee problems or walking problems at certain age.

UNDERSTANDING श्राद्ध पक्ष

Sun enters Cancer sign on or around 15th July and दक्षिणायन starts. There are 7 लोक towards south which are activated by Sun in दक्षिणायन. They are अातल लोक , वितल लोक , सुतल लोक , रसातल लोक , तलातल लोक , महातल लोक and पाताल लोक towards south. सुतल is under Virgo Sign and रसातल is under Libra Sign where Sun loses his energy and becomes debilitated. सुतल and रसातल is also called as प्रेत लोक.

Now when Sun touches these लोक , प्रेतलोक is activated or awakened. श्राद्ध पक्ष comes under this time frame when Sun enters Virgo and goes towards Libra.

Now let us divert the topic towards Moon. When we speak Moon, it doesn't mean the Moon planet that we see in the sky. This is about the Moon sphere or Astral world of Moon that we can't see through our naked eyes or through any technology of Scientists. This Moon sphere is divided into 16 parts or arcs in the Universe. Each part is called कला so Moon has 16 कला. Each कला is connected with तिथि in the Hindu Calendar. All प्रेत or मृतात्मा or Astral bodies are dwelling in these कला as per their तिथि of death. Suppose a person is died on 5th तिथि or पंचमी of any month, then he will be allotted 5th कला till his next birth. The कला or space in the Moon sphere has also various levels as per Karmas of the Astral body in his last birth. Good souls will be at very higher levels from the earth and bad karmas will push the soul to very lower levels near the earth. This is a vast subject and we will not elaborate here.

One more thing I would explain here. From Sunrise to exact mid day, Rahu is the in charge of this time frame and from Mid day to Sunset, Ketu is the in charge. Again from Sunset to Mid night Rahu is the in charge and from Mid night to Sunrise, Ketu is the in charge. This Rahu Ketu joining time is full of energy and Godly souls have taken birth at 12 am midnight or 12 pm midday. May be Lord Rama, Lord Krishna or जैन तीर्थंकर . Divine and magnetic atmosphere is created at this moment.

When Sun enters Virgo, He awakens the Moon's sphere through his divine light for 16 days and during this 16 days, daily 1 separate Divine Ray from Moon called श्रद्धा comes to the earth and souls or जीवात्मा staying in that कला are released to come down to the earth.

For example, on पूर्णिमा and प्रथमा तिथि of श्राद्ध पक्ष , first कला is opened and souls dwelling in first कला are coming to earth and goes to their homes or relatives in the light of divine श्रद्धा किरण at Mid day (मध्ध्याहन समय ) around 12 pm to 12.30 pm when Rahu time is over and Ketu time starts. On द्वितीया तिथि 2nd कला is opened and so on....

The departed souls visit their homes and see the relatives and also accepts the food donated to them on श्राद्ध तिथि. If the soul has taken birth, the person may be in any योनि, gets the food of his choice on that day.

If you do not perform श्राद्ध and feed to Brahmin or cow or dog or crow on the तिथि of your close relatives, they returns back without food and curses you. So we must perform श्राद्ध on the तिथि of our close relatives and pray for peace to the souls and also do विष्णु सहस्र नाम स्तोत्र and dedicate to them if possible.

Pitra Dosh

This is one of the most important concepts of Indian astrology and it is called Pitra Dosh which is generally defined by many astrologers as the Curse of Ancestors meaning that the forefathers of the person having Pitra Dosh in his horoscope are unhappy with him and therefore they are cursing the native and due to that curse the native may suffer from debt, diseases, failures all around, being childless and in the worst cases early death due to accidents or serious diseases. And in case of Pitra Dosh, the misconception starts right from its definition which states that it is the curse of Ancestors.

Pitra Dosh is not a curse of the Ancestors for sure as the horoscope of a person is drawn and decided right at the time of his birth and accordingly any kind of defects are decided at the time of his birth which would include defects like Pitra Dosh, Kaal Sarp Dosh and Manglik Dosh among other defects. Coming to the defect called Pitra Dosh, if this defect is decided at the birth of a person, then what has this person done in this birth to get cursed by the ancestors. I mean if a person grows older and does some bad Karmas or Bad deeds which may bring disgrace to the good and fair name of Ancestors, then it may be considered that the Ancestors are cursing that person. But why curse a person before his birth.

Pitra Dosh is not a curse of the Ancestors, but it is a Karmic Debt of the ancestors which the person having Pitra Dosh in his horoscope is supposed to pay. In simple words a Pitra Dosh is formed in the horoscope of a person due to bad Karmas or bad deeds done by the Ancestors of that person and this person is supposed to pay that Karmic debt by suffering the punishments decided for those debts in different spheres of his life until the debt is cleared either by punishment or by the good deeds done by the person having this Pitra Dosh in his horoscope. So a Pitra Dosh in a horoscope does not mean that the ancestors are cursing the person having Pitra Dosh in his horoscope, but it means that the Ancestors of such a person are themselves cursed.

Now it should be easy to understand that Pitra Dosh is not the curse of the ancestors as defined by some astrologers, but it is a debt formed as a result of bad deeds done by the ancestors and this debt has to be paid by the present generation either by taking the punishment decided according to that debt or by doing some specific good Karmic deeds which would help paying this debt so that the degree of punishment may be decreased. And after knowing so much about the definition of Pitra Dosh, let's find out how this dosh is seen present in a horoscope.

If the Sun which is a signifier of the Self and the Ancestors, is afflicted by a malefic planet, a Pitra Dosh is formed in the horoscope and depending upon the afflicting planet, the kinds and results of Pitra Dosh change. For example, the worst kind of Pitra Dosh is formed by the affliction of Rahu and Ketu to the Sun by placement and aspect. And a Pitra Dosh where the Sun and Rahu are placed in the same house and Rahu afflicts the Sun by placement and Ketu afflicts the Sun by direct aspect is a very serious Pitra Dosh and can even prove to be fatal for the native if the afflictions are strong. The affliction to the Sun by a malefic Saturn also forms a serious Pitra Dosh and similarly any malefic planet afflicting the Sun would form a Pitra Dosh which would trouble the native with different results depending upon the afflicting planet, the strength of the afflicting planet and the Sun, the placement of the afflicting planet as well as the Sun and some other factors. Apart from this, a Pitra Dosh is also formed if 9th house of a horoscope which stands for Ancestors among other things is afflicted by a malefic planet and the results would be predicted in the same way as in case of afflictions to the Sun. Afflictions to the Lord of 9th house also form a Pitra Dosh.

And now that we know about Pitra Dosh, let's discuss about its remedies. Like all other defects presents in a horoscope, Pitra Dosh is a very technical defect and general remedies are not sufficient for it. It is very important first to identify the planet or planets causing Pitra Dosh and then do the remedies which usually involve Pooja, Yantras, Mantras, Gemstones and Charities. And for the people who are told that Pitra Dosh is a curse of the ancestors and it can be modified by doing Poojas and charities to pacify and please their ancestors, let me tell you that this remedy is not going to do much good for you because your Ancestors are not cursing you but they are themselves cursed and so you don't need to pray to them, but you need to pray for them. So in order to relieve yourself and your ancestors of the Pitra Dosh present in your horoscope, identify the planet or planets causing Pitra Dosh in the horoscope and then do specific Remedies to pay the debts of those planets and pacify those planets so that they may reduce the quantum of punishment they are imposing on you.

SOME HINTS ON NAAMKARAN (नामकरण)

It is the prevalent system among Hindus that the name of a person in kept according to the prescribed letters of a particular Nakshtra (नक्षत्र) in which the native is born. But, nowadays, the names given by the parents are not by taking into consideration the Nakshtra (Constellation) in which Moon was at the time of birth.

The various systems in the world on name #numerology often confuse students, especially as values of Hebrew, Pythagorean and Indian alphabets are entirely different.
